Hogwarts Legacy: Symbols Door Puzzle Guide Hogwarts Legacy is a role-playing game set in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. One of the features of the game is the ability to solve door puzzles that are hidden throughout Hogwarts Castle. These puzzles involve matching animal symbols with numbers and performing simple arithmetic operations. Solving these puzzles can reward the player with valuable items and secrets. In this blog post, I will explain how to solve these door puzzles, where to find them, and what you can get from them.
How to solve door puzzles
The door puzzles are based on a note that you can find in the Library Annex area of Hogwarts, near the first door puzzle that leads to the Arithmancy Classroom. The note lists the number that each animal symbol represents, as shown below:
Demiguise | 0 |
Unicorn | 1 |
Griphorn | 2 |
Three-headed serpent | 3 |
Fwooper | 4 |
Five-legged bug | 5 |
Lizard | 6 |
Apple-shaped creature with tentacles | 7 |
Spider | 8 |
Hydra | 9 |
Each door puzzle has a circle with a number in the middle and four symbols around it. The number in the middle is the answer to an addition problem using the symbols around it. For example, if the circle has a 5 in the middle and a unicorn, a griphorn, a demiguise, and a question mark around it, then the addition problem is:
1+2+0+?=5
To solve this puzzle, you need to find the symbol that makes the equation true. In this case, it is the five-legged bug, which represents 5. So you need to change the question mark symbol on the wall to a five-legged bug symbol and then interact with the door to open it.
Each door puzzle has two such equations and two question mark symbols that you need to change. Sometimes the question mark symbols are hard to find, so you need to look around carefully. You can also use your wand to highlight them.
