How To Defeat Romeo- King of Puppets in Lies of P Lies of P is a dark fantasy action role-playing game inspired by the classic story of Pinocchio. The game is set in a plague-ridden city of Krat, where the protagonist, a humanoid puppet named Pinocchio, searches for his creator and the truth behind his existence. Along the way, he encounters various enemies and bosses that challenge his skills and resolve. One of these bosses is Romeo, King of Puppets, who is fought in the Estella Opera House. In this blog post, I will explain how to defeat Romeo, King of Puppets in Lies of P.
How to reach Romeo- King of Puppets in Lies of P
Romeo, King of Puppets is the second main boss of the game, and he is located on the stage of the Estella Opera House. To get there, you need to progress through the main story until you reach the Stargazer area, which is the second main area of the game. As you explore the streets, you will find a flaming chandelier swinging from side to side.
How to fight Romeo, King of Puppets
The fight against Romeo, King of Puppets has two phases. In the first phase, you will face a giant mechanical puppet with long arms that can reach you from a distance. In the second phase, you will face the real Romeo, who is a fast and agile scythe-wielder with fire-based attacks.
Phase 1: King of Puppets Construct
The King of Puppets Construct has several attacks that you need to watch out for:
- Twisting Slam: The construct will whirl around and hit you with its arms.
- Vortex Blast: The construct will crouch then pull you in, followed by an AoE blast.
- Tornado Spike: The construct will create a gust of wind around it, followed by a spike that bursts from underground. This attack is unblockable and can hit you even if you block.
- Launching Leg Smash: The construct will punch through the ground with both arms before launching high up into the air.
- Power Sweep: The construct will do a wind-up before both arms sweep outward. This attack is unblockable and can only be avoided by a perfect guard.
The best strategy to deal with this phase is to stay close to the construct and dodge or block its attacks. Some of its attacks are clearly telegraphed and easy to block, such as Twisting Slam and Armed Rampage.
Phase 2: Romeo, King of Puppets
After depleting the construct’s HP, a cutscene will play and you will see the real Romeo emerge from its remains. He wields a scythe as his weapon and is quite agile. He has several moves that you need to watch out for:
- Leap Slam: Romeo will jump into the air and slam his scythe on the ground, creating a shockwave.
- Scythe Slash: Romeo will slash his scythe horizontally or vertically.
- Fury Attack: Romeo will unleash a flurry of slashes with his scythe.
- Fire Dash: Romeo will dash forward while leaving a trail of fire behind him.
- Fire Flurry: Romeo will spin around while creating a ring of fire around him.
Most of his attacks can be avoided by dodging to his left side, except for Fire Flurry which requires you to dodge away from him.
