Top Esports Competitions in 2023 in India: The new season of esports, 2023, has begun, and the Indian organizers are more than prepared to present many top-tier tournaments for various established and future titles.
Upthrust Esports was among the first to share its eSports roadmap for the year, which includes top-tier tournaments, invitational competitions, and even a celebrity charity event, but it remains to be seen what gaming titles the organizers will choose if BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) does not return.
Gameophobic is here to talk about the top eSports Competitions in 2023 in India. Consider this to be our ‘Happy New Year’ to you!
Upthrust Esports: Complete 2023 Esports Tournament Roadmap
The list of IPs announced by Upthrust Esports is as follows,
- Pro Showdown 2.0
- Ranbhoomi 2.0
- Diwali Battle 2023
- Gamers On Ground
- Survivors Throne Season 3
- Gaming Fest Season 3
- India Rising 2023
Here’s what to expect from the organizer in the coming year. The largest unknown is which games will be featured at each of these competitions, given the majority of them featured BGMI last year.
Pro Showdown 2.0
The first season of this invite-only tournament, which featured 24 of the best BGMI teams from throughout the country and a total prize fund of 10 lakhs, took place last year.
Season 2 will likely feature something similar, but with a different mobile game title. A direct successor would be New State Mobile, which the organizers are familiar with after hosting the Upthrust Esports New State Mobile Challengers Showdown last August.
Ranbhoomi 2.0
This grassroots-level event held its debut season in 2021, providing aspiring BGMI players an opportunity to compete against established teams. It likewise had a total prize fund of 10 lakhs and lasted three weeks.
Diwali Battle
This Competitive Tournament turning into an IP was unexpected by fans. However, it appears that this event is more than simply a competition and is truly a Diwali celebration by Upthrust Esports.
The previous season had a total prize pool of 30 lakhs. Additionally, it was essentially an invite-only tournament divided into two stages, each with its portion of the prize money.
Gamer on Ground
Upthrust Esports hosted a charity football match including some of India’s top gaming producers as a vacation from holding regular gaming and esports competitions.
The event took place in December of last year, and all proceeds were donated to charity. This year, the organizers are anticipated to do something similar, possibly incorporating a new sport on a larger scale.
Survivors Throne
Upthrust Esports previously held three seasons of this IP, each showcasing a different mobile title – PUBG Mobile (May 2021), Free Fire (December 2021), and BGMI (March 2021). (February 2022).
However, the first season begins with the second event, so this year’s tournament will technically be the third season. If it follows the recent trend, it may include a new title, perhaps something in the vein of Pokemon UNITE and New State Mobile.
Gaming Fest
The third season of this IP will air later this year and will feature a collection of gaming titles that aren’t particularly popular in the country, providing them a tiny push in the correct direction while also catering to a wider audience.
The previous season of Gaming Fest featured titles such as Clash of Clans, FIFA 22, Call of Duty Mobile, World Cricket Championship, and Pokemon UNITE, with a total prize pool of INR 2,000.
India Rising 2.0
This IP will be in its second year. The last one hosted a BGMI event open to anyone with a total prize pool of 15 lakhs. The organizers have agreed to stage another season this year, which may see something similar happen.
Upthrust Esports has several competitions planned for 2023. A fair combination of events that target a wider audience, as well as a decent mix of community-focused tournaments and events featuring the top brass of Indian esports.
